The in-between...the no man's land...mid ocean...you'll hit shore somewhere and it'll all seem peaceful again. :)
But then the ocean is out there...all around you and its amazing how often the tide pulls you in...just keep swimming back! :)

Oh, reading your poem I was reminded of the opening lines of TS Eliot's 'Burnt Norton':
"Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable."
