Addiction

I have made another attempt to quit smoking. Though being unsuccessful is my destiny but this time I have raised the stakes. I don't know what to ask for. Quitting one gives me life and leaving another brings me a painful death. But one thing is sure…both bring me freedom. I always try to be a complete non-believer and I know for sure that I'm not a loser. I'm just Unsuccessful………

'success' is all about perception.

i am not sure if i understood the entire post correctly - especially the 'leaving another' bit.

but lemme tell u this - i have been an active smoker for around 8 years now, and i don't believe it is difficult to quit. i mean, i have been able to stay away from it for periods as long as 6 months - purely out of choice. its a different thing that after 6 months of abstinence, i took it up again - i smoke b'coz i enjoy smoking, period.

its all in the mind, my friend.

'Quitting one gives me life and leaving another brings me a painful death'. This paradoxical wisdom could put Socrates to shame.
Unsuccessful or otherwise, you have a way with words.

I have a theory, if you want to quit something, you have to replace it with something that works in the same way, but throug different mechanics.

Try replacing smoking with playing mild computer games that show your score. See if that helps.
